The late 70’s and early 80’s ushered in the video wars. Movie goers had the luxury of watching and collecting their favorite film on Betamax then later VHS. Predator was one of those Classic films people couldn’t get enough of. It’s no wonder decades later the franchise still remains popular and continues to broaden it’s fan base.
In 1987 a young writer, Shane Black landed an acting role in Predator. He later found success is other Hollywood blockbusters (Lethal Weapon, The Last Boy Scout,Last Action Hero) sending him down a successful cinematic path that would eventually expand full circle, leading him back to the beloved franchise that started it all - “The Predator.” This time Shane serves as the Writer and Director. He promises to deliver a solid release hoping that diehard fans approve subjoining ’The Predator’ with the Classic status that the previous films now enjoy.
From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black's explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe's most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
