Here’s my Logic Pro tutorial on how to beat remake the instrumental/music for Ed Sheeran's ‘Shape Of You’ using ONLY standard Logic instruments and plugins.

Shape of You has that classic Ed Sheeran Looper feel about it. On live performances, you can see him use his Chewie Monster (his custom looper) to create the layers of the track. It's a simple, repetitive but ultimately catchy song, mainly due to the melody and his delivery of it.

I'm of the belief you don't need a ridiculous amount of plugins and instruments to create a studio quality track, and in this case, Logic Pro already has everything you need. For $199, that's an AMAZING package. All the AU instruments, processors, plugins and tools you need are definitely already there to create a studio quality track. The main question is how to develop the skills.

I have found (from my mentors) that copying a track, and learning how to build it from scratch, is one of the best practices in producing, arranging, composing and mixing that you can have, because you learn by breaking something down and putting it back together yourself. So please take the time to develop those skills - download the project and have a go, and I'd love to listen to your versions, or maybe even completed version of the track.
